MyAstro API Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common developer questions related to MyAstro API integration, authentication, API errors, request limits, response handling, and best practices.

How do I get an API key?

API key is automatically generated after successful signup and email validation of Myastro API account through the dashboard. In some cases, manual verification may occur due to security checks designed to protect our existing users and platform services.

If API key is not generated even after suessful signup and account verification please wait at least 2-3 days before contacting account support staff.

Which method should i use GET or POST ?

MyAstro Vedic Astrology API supports only POST request methods for all API endpoints because of better security, safe request handling, and reliable data transmission.

Repeated attempts to access API endpoints using unsupported request methods such as GET may trigger automated security protection systems and can result in temporary or permanent account suspension. Developers should follow the API request format described in the documentation or other resources.

What is API rate limit?

MyAstro API does not impose fixed rate limit restrictions on API requests and responses. We expect our developers and users to consume API resources responsibly and follow fair usage practices.

We know that strict rate limits can sometimes make applications and automation workflows unstable. However, abusive usage patterns, unnecessary repeated requests, or activities that negatively affect platform stability may trigger temporary security restrictions to protect service performance for all users.

Why am I getting authentication errors?

Authentication errors usually occur because of a missing or invalid API key in the authentication header during an API request. if authentication fails API will return a 401 Unauthorized status code in the JSON response.

Developers should always check the API response status code before implementing custom error handling logic. Additional status codes may also be returned depending on the request parameters, account status or security validation result.

Can I use API on frontend?

User should never expost API keys in frontend applications, client-side JavaScript, mobile apps, or public repositories. as solution. Developer can make request to own backend server from frontend where all authentication occur and backend server can then safely provide the required response data to frontend applications.
